Make Good is celebrating graduating high school youth in DCFS’s Independent Living Program as they prepare to take their next big step: community college, trade school, or vocational training.
At this special Pop-Up Shopping Day, youth will receive essentials to help them begin their educational journey with confidence, along with access to helpful resource representatives who can provide guidance, support, and connections for the road ahead.

Join Make Good & Hope in a Suitcase for our Workshop & Pop Up Shopping Event for current foster youth ages 15-18 years old who are part of the Happy Trails for Kids Summer Camp Junior Leadership Training cohort. Saturday, May 9th!
We will need volunteers to act as personal shoppers, station captions and more.
SATURDAY, MAY 9TH:
SHIFT - 11:45 am - 2:45 pm
You must be 16+ years to work this event. Please do not bring pets unless it is a certified service animal.
*Please only sign up for a shift if you can stay the entire time. We count on you to complete the tasks that need to be done!
Lunch, snacks and beverages will be available for all.
Here Comes the Sun
Here Comes the Sun Volunteer Sign Up- 2026
Join Make Good & Hope in a Suitcase for our annual "Here Comes the Sun" Pop Up Shopping Event for current foster youth ages 10 - 20 years old on Sunday, May 3th! We will need volunteers to act as personal shoppers, station captains and more.
Don’t forget to wear your Make Good shirt if you have one!
SATURDAY, MAY 2rd, SET UP:
10:00 am - 12:30 pm
Duties include: setting up canopies, tables, chairs, opening boxes, sorting items, hanging clothing, etc.
Water & snacks to be provided.
Volunteers under 14 years old must be accompanied by an adult
SUNDAY, MAY 4th, EVENT DAY:
AM SHIFT - 9:30 am - 12:30 pm
PM SHIFT - 12:15 pm - 3:15 pm
*If you want to work all day, select both shifts.
You must be 16+ years to work Sunday’s event.
Self-Care Sunday
A day of pampering and shopping with Hope in a Suitcase for foster teen girls ages 15-17 to prepare them for prom, graduation, and summer jobs.
February Fun Shopping Day with Hope in a Suitcase
This is a smaller scale pop-up shopping event for current foster youth ages 9-18. Children and youth will shop for brand-new clothing, shoes, toiletries, books, accessories and more. Caregivers will receive a special gift.
