Film2Future Shopping Day
Join us for the Film2Future Pop-Up Shopping Day. We will be helping 50 youth from the Film2Future program shop for free brand-new clothing to wear at their upcoming Gala!

There will be a break for all of us to enjoy lunch together.

On October 29th, Make Good will be with the UCLA Pritzker Center for Strengthening Families at the Altadena Community Center. We are proud to participate in bringing books to this community.

Halloween Extravaganza Pop Up Shopping Day
Its our annual Halloween Extravaganza Pop-Up Shopping Day! Along with our partner Hope in a Suitcase, we will be hosting current foster youth ages 6 - 17 years old for a festive Halloween shopping day with costumes, candy, toys, books, clothing, shoes and much more.
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 5th

PM Shift: 12:30 pm - 4:00 pm
Volunteers must be 16 yrs + to participate

Halloween Extravaganza Set Up Day
Come join us to help set up for our annual Halloween Extravaganza Pop Up Shopping Day! We need volunteers to help with organizing inventory, setting up canopies, tables, etc. We’ll be sorting books, arranging costumes and prepping caregiver bags, all for the big day on Sunday, October 5th.

Kickstart College & Career Pop-up Shopping Day
We will be hosting our 2nd Annual Kickstart College & Career Pop Shopping Day to support current & former foster youth who will be attending Community College, Trade Tech or Vocational School this Fall! This is a collaborative event with Children’s Action Network.
They will shop for brand-new clothing, shoes, accessories, toiletries, backpacks, supplies, books along with support towards program tools, supplies, uniforms, technology, textbooks and more. Any of those items they need to “Kickstart” their educational journey!
VOLUNTEER SHIFTS INCLUDE:
AM SHIFT: 9:15 am - 11:45pm
PM SHIFT: 11:30 pm - 2:00 pm
Volunteers must be 16+ years to participate. lunch will be provided for ALL DAY volunteers. Water & snacks available throughout the day.

We will be hosting a shopping day for CSU Dominguez Hills Guardian Scholars students on Friday, August 15th.
Guardian Scholars is a Cal State University program that supports current or former foster youth throughout their journey of a 4-year university education.

Back to School Pop Up Shopping Day
Join the the Make Good & Hope in a Suitcase team for the Back to School Pop Up Shopping Event for current foster youth ages 10 - 21 years old on Sunday, August 3rd!
Duties include: overseeing product stations, handing out books, backpacks, toiletries, packing suitcases and more. Also volunteers may support as “personal shoppers” for the attendees.

Peace4Kids Workshop
We will be hosting a career readiness workshop with Peace4Kids, a non-profit organization whose mission is to create a safe community where youth in foster care thrive and form lasting connections.
Their programs are designed with a commitment to providing tailored support, leadership, and transformative experiences. Our mission stretches beyond conventional approaches. We strive to create a nurturing environment that not only addresses the immediate needs of youth but also encourages their personal growth, strengths, and sense of belonging.
Spring Forward Pop-Up Shopping Day
Our annual Spring pop-up shopping event with our partner Hope in a Suitcase for current foster youth ages 7 - 18 years old and their caregivers.
Two volunteer shifts available:

12:30 pm - 3:30 pm
Must be 16 years old + to volunteer.

Together We Rebuild: A Day of Recovery & Resilience
Make Good is honored to be part of the SoLA Foundation’s fire relief & recovery event “Together We Rebuild” A Day of Recovery & Resilience. On February 22nd, community partners will be coming together to create a unique day of wellness, self care, resources and fun for more than 750 families impacted by the LA fires. The SoLA Foundation’s mission is end intergenerational poverty in South Los Angeles through community development, access to education, and economic opportunity.

DCFS Holiday Luncheon
We are happy to once again be hosting the 14th Annual DCFS Holiday Luncheon in partnership with DCFS Youth Development Services on Wednesday, December 18th. This event is for Transition Age foster youth (TAY ages 16- 20 years old) and will be full of food, music, Gingerbread House making, raffle prizes and fun goodies for all!
Volunteers will help distribute the goodies & help with the activities. Must be 15 years+ to volunteer for this event.

Bring the Holidays Home Shopping Day
On December 15th, we will be holding our annual Bring the Holidays Home Shopping Day for former foster youth-TAY ages 18 - 27 years (30 years if enrolled in a higher learning program) and their children. Along with our partners Children’s Action Network and Hope in a Suitcase, this will be a festive day with shopping for brand new clothing, shoes, toiletries, books and more for the TAY and pre-packed bags of clothes, toys, games for the little ones, along with holiday presents for everyone!

Stepping Forward LA - Holiday Party
On Friday, December 6th, we will be hosting Stepping Forward LA at our site for their annual holiday party!
Stepping Forward LA is one of our wonderful partners that provides the tools & resources to help former foster young adults literally “step forward” confidently into adulthood through mentorship programs, a robust internship program as well as housing support.
No volunteers needed for this event.
Film2Future Gala Shopping Day
We will be hosting 50 youth from the Film2Future program to come shop for clothing for their upcoming Gala! Film2 Future’s mission is to change the face of Hollywood by giving underserved LA-based teenagers access to professional-level filmmaking programs and employment opportunities.
Seeking volunteers to help these young people prepare for their big day of celebration! Volunteer shift is 10:00 am - 3:00 pm. Lunch will be provided!

Halloween Pop Up Shopping Day
On Sunday, October 20th, Make Good will be joining with our collaborative partner Hope in a Suitcase for our annual Halloween Pop-Up Shopping Day for 150 current foster youth ages 6 - 17 years old and their caregivers.
Hope in a Suitcase will be providing clothing, shoes, toiletries, toys and more! Make Good will be handing out books, fun Halloween costumes and caregiver bags.

We are so happy that Paramount Studios has chosen Make Good and Hope in a Suitcase to be part of their employee Day of Service! More than 50 employees will be onsite to help in various projects - inventory, clothing sorting and re-organizing, prepping goodie bags for DCFS foster youth high school graduation ceremony and much more!
